Philosophy

Streaming Rainbow is committed to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion wherever possible. The TTRPG community has a long history of excluding marginalized communities. Though we are not guilty for the sins of the past, we have a responsibility to make a brighter and better future. Streaming Rainbow is proud to come alongside our allies and help bring the change necessary to the TTRPG space. 

From day one, Streaming Rainbow has strived to tell stories as diverse as the communities that reflect the diversity of TTRPG Actual Play (AP) audiences. Stories told for and by BIPOC, queer, trans, non-binary, disabled and whatever others need to be told and Streaming Rainbow has always aimed to lift up these communities in these efforts.  

Implementation in Casting 

Streaming Rainbow is committed to producing all APs and other content featuring performers from marginalized communities. Put plainly, there will be no shows with an all white, all cisgender cast. We owe it to the community of TTRPG audiences to be able to see themselves in our stories and, more specifically, the incredibly diverse community that has supported Streaming Rainbow from day one. Further, we promise to implement processes to include feedback from performers, consulting with other creators, and assessing our aims periodically to cast all of our productions in a way that fosters a culture of belonging, mutual respect, and greater cultural understanding. This requires a thorough casting process, including, but not limited to, screening, vetting, and determining the best way to assist in scheduling. We want to ensure that cast members, or potential cast members, don’t feel tokenized or uncomfortable at our tables. This requires open communication, feedback, and transparency. 

Furthermore, Streaming Rainbow commits to the practice of holding an in-depth Session 0 with players before recording/streaming begins for any production. Additionally, Streaming Rainbow commits to utilizing robust safety tools to ensure all parties are comfortable and having fun. We urge our cast members and community, many of whom have become friends, to share their feedback and experiences with us!
